THE MOTHER OF ALL ADVENTURES
This episode takes place in Haiti. The opening scene shows a strange event in a local village. Zombies? Episode Captures (Click to enlarge) Max and mom are enjoying a holiday (vacation) in Haiti, and stop off at a local village, but all is not as it seems. As they go about the village they find it deserted, or at least they think it is. They enter one hut and find a strange picture on the wall which appears to be a man with a hole in his chest. Max's mom tells him that it is symbolic of the soul, or the lack of it. As they look at the picture they see a movement; coming toward them is a person, but there is something strange about him. He has a blank, expressionless face, and his arms are outstretched before him. A zombie! Max picks up a baseball bat to protect him and his mother. They run outside but Max is grabbed by the zombie. His mother jumps on the zombie's back, causing him to drop Max. Max sees his chance and hits the zombie with the bat, or at least he tries. He misses, and instead hits what appears to be a green lump on the back of the zombie's neck. The green lump falls to the ground, and Max notices that it is something alive. Now that the zombie has had the creature removed from his neck, he becomes a normal person again. Upon seeing the creature he warns Max that it steals souls. Max despatches the creature by stamping on it. Other zombies now move toward them so Max, his mom, and the once-zombie go about removing and killing the soul-stealing creatures. Once all the villagers have been released from their trance the Chief tells them all about the creatures, showing them the information about them. Max's mom sees a blue statue and asks if she can have it. The Chief tells her he can, but Max warns his mother against the dark magic that protects it. She takes it anyway. Back in the safety of home, Max, in blue pyjamas tries to convince his mom that staying up past his bedtime would be a good idea, but she is having none of it, and so Max goes to bed. His mom leaves to go to bed at the same time, and as the room is left empty we span across to the statue. It starts wobbling as if it has a life of its own. It falls to the floor where it smashes - releasing a large number of the green soul-stealers which had been hiding inside it. The next morning Max's alarm clocks wakes him up and he hits it with his hand, not realising he has crushed one of the green soul-stealers that was lurking on it. Max looks at his hand and says that he was sure he washed his hands before he went to bed last night. He heads off to the bathroom where he is feeling very gloomy about having to go to "stupid school" (we all know how he feels, don't we? whether its having to get up for school or work!) Once finished and changed he rushes downstairs, tells his mom that he is late for school, but he doesn't look at her before he rushes out of the door. If he had he would have seen the balnk look on her face, and the green soul-stealer on the back of her neck. As Max makes his way to school he is soaked by an old man who is using a hose pipe in his front garden. Max shouts at him, but doesn't notice the old man's blank face. As Max continues to cycle he starts to notice that everybody is acting wierd. He sees a baby in a pram which has the same expression on its face as the zombies back in Haiti had. Max realises what has happened and rushes to the police station to tell the police, but even they are now zombies. Max rushes home fearing the worst for his mother. Once home he grabs a baseball bat and searches for his mom, calling to her. He finds her soon enough and she too is a zombie. She moves toward him and he takes aim, apologising to her in advance. He strikes out with the bat and successfully kills the soul-stealer on her neck. They both sit in the living room as Max tries to comfort her over her remorse that the whole town is infected with zombies because of her actions. Max wonders how the whole town can be saved, but knows that there are far too many people for him to be able to do it all. Suddenly the television switches itself on and Max sees Virgil on the screen, calling to him. "Virgil!" Max exclaimes, he would know what to do. Virgil tells Max that the zombies are threatening to take over and that Max must come to Haiti to put a stop to it. We next see Max and mom with Virgil and Norman back in Haiti. As they look about them they are horrified to see a load of hands erupt from the ground, which grab hold of their feet and drag them underground. They find themselves in a vast underground chamber where they find themselves surrounded by zombies. A frenzied rush of soul-stealer killing ensures until the ground is covered in their slime. Max looks at all the villagers who have just been freed from their zombie stance. "Do not be afraid!" he tells them. They instantly scream and run away. As Max and the rest of the team search about in the underground caverns they find a large door, and from the inscription on it they learn that the mother Zomboid, the queen of all the soul-stealers lurks behind it. With intrepidation they enter the room and there they see a gigantic creature similar in appearance to the soul-stealers. It moves a tentacle toward them but hesitates as the team stand still, too scared to move. Virgil realises that the creature can only detect movement, and tests the theory by throwing a pebble off to one side. The creature moves toward it but abandons it once the pebble stops moving. Max's mom has a plan and she moves away to distract the creature. The mother Zomboid moves toward her but Max picks up a piece of splintered bone that was laying on the floor of the creature's lair. He moves toward the creature and she reaches out with a tentacle and grabs hold of him. He stabs the tentacle with the splintered bone and immediately a noxious gas erupts from the wound. Recginising the smell of methane Max's mom throws Max a book of matches which he manages to catch. He strikes a match and touches it to the escaping gas. The creature squeals in agony and drops Max. Everybody runs out of the chamber knowing that the creature, now engulfed in flames, is about to explode, and sure enough it does, and so ending the zombie invasion throughout the world. Back at home once again we see Max sitting on the sofa. His mom hands him a sandwich that she has made for him. "Have you cleaned up every last dead creature?" she asks. "Yes mom" he replies. he looks at the sandwich his mom has made for him and sees a dead soul-stealer in it. he gives a yell. "Now then," says his mom. "About your room!"
