Episode Captures (Click to enlarge) Max is in his room with his friend Felix. On his bed is a machine which is supposed to be a mini fusion reactor, but it doesn’t seem to be working. Max asks Felix whether he had read the instructions properly. Felix reads them again but finds the instructions have changed slightly; they now have a message for Max to find the portal in the local laundrette. “It’s that chicken again, isn’t it?” asks Felix. “He’s a fowl actually!” replies Max as he heads out of this room leaving Felix with the useless reactor. Once in the laundrette Max discovers that Virgil has got his directions wrong; instead of the portal being in the third drier, it is in the 5th. Max arrives in India where he informs Virgil that his instructions were wrong. Virgil cannot believe this and tells Max that he has only ever been wrong once: he thought he had been wrong! Ignoring Max’s protests Virgil informs him that an ancient evil has woken and is now seeking two missing parts Kali. Virgil tells Max where the pieces are buried and Max begins to dig. He does find a piece of a statue of an Indian god, but it is the wrong god. Max points out that Virgil is wrong again and pockets the statue piece he had dug up. As he does this the trio find themselves suddenly surrounded by cobra snakes and up steps the snake god. Norman rushes in to attack but there are too many snakes. Max looks around and thinks up of a plan of escape. He heads over to an open pipeline that is carrying water to an unknown location and bends the pipe causing it to break and flood the ground with water. His hope is that the water will wash the snakes away but to his horror the snakes seem to be able to swim. Max looks over to the snake god and discovers that it has found one of the statue pieces it was looking for. The snake god runs off and heads underground releasing the hold it had over the cobras that swim away leaving the trio unharmed. Underneath the Taj Mahal Max, Virgil, and Norman seek the last remaining piece of the statue desperate to find it before the snake god does. They find several doors leading of a hallway and Norman opens one of them to discover not the missing piece of statue, but a scrap piece of stone, which Max picks up. A noise is heard behind them and they turn around to find that the snake god has found the final piece of statue. It invokes the Indian elephant god, ordering it to kill them all. Norman tries to attack it but it is too strong for him. Meanwhile Max manages to snatch a piece of the statue from the snake god and runs off, with the giant snake in close pursuit. He climbs a large statue in a bid to get away from the snake but the snake is too fast for Max and it snatches the remaining piece of the Kali statue from him, before slithering away. Elsewhere the snake awakens Kali and orders her to start her dance of destruction. Obeying the snakes command Kali begins to dance causing a huge earthquake to rip its way through the surrounding area. Max, Norman and Virgil arrive too late to stop Kali’s destruction dance and look on in helplessness. Virgil tells Max that the only way to stop her would be to invoke another Indian god; Shiva, her male counterpart. As Kali continues her dance the nearby buildings shatter and fall to the ground. One huge rock hurtles towards Max but Norman hits it with his sword causing the stone to split into two. From within the stone falls another statue arm. Max pulls the piece of statue that he had found early during his digging and realises that this statue is indeed the male counterpart to Kali. He picks up the tiny arm and attaches it to Shiva. Nothing happens. Then Max sees that the statue has no feet. Virgil takes him to one side and tells Max to trust him as he leads him away into a nearby room. Within this room is a large statue of Shiva. “But,” says Max, “it is useless without feet!” Virgil tells him to trust his destiny and gives him a hint by looking at his feet. It then dawns on Max that in front of the statue of Shiva are two indentations in the shape of feet. He could act as the feet! He stands in the indentations and immediately a sword appears in one hand and a green flame in his other. He moves outside and confronts Kali, but not much seems to happen and she promises Max that he will die a thousand deaths. Max runs but Kali snares him with her whip and rags him toward her. Max backs up against a wall and in desperation he thrusts out his left hand on which the green flame continues to burn. A huge flash of green light erupts from the flame and engulfs Shiva. When it clears Shiva is still there, but she has changed. Her mind has been freed from the clutches of the snake god. She confronts the snake who is still fighting Norman, and on seeing her in control of herself again the snake god flees, but does not get far before it is destroyed by a collapsing building. Kali thanks Max for his help and disappears before his very eyes, along with the sword he was holding and the green flame. The dance of destruction has been stopped and the earthquake fades away. As the trio make their way back home Virgil tries to tell Max how the difference between the Indian calendar and the Lumerian calendar made it seem as if he had been wrong, when in fact he had been right along. As usual!
