WEREWOLVES OF DUNNEGLEN
This episode takes us to Scotland where a three-headed werewolf is running amok in the area. Episode Captures (Click to enlarge) Max is walking around his house with his pet iguana, Thor, on his shoulder. As he approaches the living room he hears his mother laughing, and the voice of a man telling her how much he loves her, and that he wants her to marry him. Max becomes irritated that his mom is about to marry a man that he has never met before, (it is interesting to note here that nothing is mentioned of Max's own father, and we can only assume that his parents are divorced, or that his father died sometime ago.) Max bursts into the room ready to confront the man, but instead of seeing two people in the living room, he sees only one, his mom. She is speaking on the telephone, laughing at whatever it is the person on the other end is saying. So who was the man he heard? He looks at the television which shows a man serenading a woman. Max had got it wrong; there was no man trying to marry his mom, it was just a soppy romance film. Max reaches to the television to turn it off, showing his disgust at the movie by blowing it a raspberry. His mom throws him a package which she tells him had arrived that morning. The package is simply addressed to "Mr. Max", and has the word "Urgent" on it. Intrigued he opens it up and finds a video cassette inside. He immediately puts it into the video player and presses play. Virgil appears on the screen with a message for him to come to Scotland. Max soon finds himself sitting on the grass in a small graveyard in front of an old church, on a cloudy day in Scotland. He notices a policeman nearby and goes over to speak to him. At first the policeman looks at Max with a little suspicion and Max soon sees why; there has been a murder (moyder?) in this place. An outline of where the body once was has been set into the grass. The policeman tells Max that some of the locals have been referring to the local werewolf legend. Max thinks this is cool and tells the policeman so, the policeman says to him, "Yes, but you're an American, you'll buy anything!" Max goes back to the police station where he sees Norman and Virgil locked up behind bars. Max is stunned to find out that the policeman holds them both as suspects to the murder. In the next cell along is another man who introduces himself as Cameron; amazingly this man instantly recognises Max as the Cap Bearer! A short while later Max overhears the policeman talking to his wife about a werewolf. As Max explores the jailhouse he pens one door to find what appears to be a large laboratory. Within he sees what look like three animals strapped down on examination beds with intravenous drips attached to them. The policeman's wife appears and pulls him away, explaining that they are sick animals for which she is trying to find a cure. Max is taken back to the policeman's house where he is looked after by the couple. They feed him, tell him about the werewolf legend, which his wife dismisses as fables. Max later goes to bed and falls fast asleep. Later Max is suddenly awoken when the window in the bedroom bursts open. He sits up and looks toward the window to see a huge animal looking in, growling at him. It then disappears as quickly as it appeared. Max gets out of bed and runs into the hallway where he sees the policeman's wife getting ready to go out. "A wolf tried to get me!" he tells her, but she dismisses this. They both go outside into the foggy night and she tells him to go on and she will follow him, but soon Max is lost in the fog. He hears a horrible noise and sees something huge coming toward him. Max runs off and loses the animal, but soon stumbles on a castle. Looking up in the battlements he sees a werewolf, witnessing it changing back into a man he recognises;Cameron. Max goes into the castle and makes his way up to the battlement. He almost falls to his death when the wall gives way beneath him, but Cameron leaps at him, saving his life. Cameron desperately tries to convince Max that he means him no harm, but Max is not entirely convince. There is a movement behind them and they both turn around to see a huge, 3-headed werewolf stalking them. In a bid to escape they both hurriedly climb some scaffolding, with the mutant werewolf close behind. But the werewolf is too heavy and the scaffolding collapses. Max and Cameron leap to safety but the werewolf is not so fortunate, and the entire framework falls down on top of it. Max now realises that Cameron means him no harm. He admits to Max that he is a werewolf and that all he wants is to find his long lost werewolf clan. Max tells him that he has seen them in a laboratory at the jailhouse. They both run back to the lab and break in via a back window. Cameron finds his werewolf companions and releases them from their captivity. However, they have been weakened by somebody's attempt to drain the essence from the werewolves. As Cameron lays his friends down to rest the policeman's wife enters the lab. She does not seem surprised to see them both there. In her hand she holds a vial containing a liquid. Cameron realises that she is the one that has been experimenting on the werewolves in order to gain their power, and possibly their immortality. The woman drinks the liquid and instantly changes into the 3-headed werewolf. Angry, Cameron changes into a wolf himself and attacks the mutant. He three companions seeing their friend in trouble rouse themselves and attack the mutant. However the mutant werewolf is too strong for them and Max realises that they are losing. He takes in what is around him to try and see what he can do to help. He notices three things; a crank that lowers the ceiling, some large bottles of hydrogen, and some raw electricity leaping about on a machine. Max opens all the bottles up and runs to the crank and begins lowering the ceiling. His plan begins to take shape as the mutant werewolf, due to her larger size is trapped under the ceiling. Max urges the other werewolves to run, and they all leave the building just in time as the escaping hydrogen gas meets the electricity. There is an almighty explosion, and the mutant werewolf is killed. Later, the policeman learns of what has happened, and of who his wife really was. He signs a pardon for each of the prisoners and releases them as freemen (and a fowl!). Cameron thanks Max for all his help and then runs off to join his tribe.
