SKULLMASTER This is Max's arch-enemy who is obsessed with getting Max's cap so that he can use it to escape from his underground prison, and with the power it yields he could rule the world. He was imprisoned in the fiery, lava flooded bowels of the Earth thousands of years ago, when the first Cap Bearer gave his own life in order to protect mankind from Skullmaster's diabolical plans. Though imprisoned so deep in the Earth, Skullmaster can still exert his powers to influence those on the surface; he has on many occasions sent his minions after Max and his cap. Skullmaster also has with him the Crystal of Souls in which he has trapped the tormented souls of countless dead. WARMONGER Warmonger was Skullmaster's side-kick. He was not seen in every episode which featured Skullmaster, but he was there from the very start. He served Skullmaster with loyalty and devotion, wanting nothing more than to see Skullmaster as ruler of the Earth, and himself as his deputy. Not all episodes featured Skullmaster or Warmonger. Other enemies of Max included the following: This chap, featured in episode 17 The Missing Linked (series 2 episode 4,) was the creator of what Max called the Big Pink Sticky Thing, a huge blob of ooze that consumed people into itself in order to grow in strength and stature. It was, I believe, created from toxic waste. The madman himself was truly mad, and didn't even know his own name. A giant rat-like-man who threatened the world with his army of monstrous rats in the eighteenth episode The Year Of The Rat (series 2 episode 5). He was eventually thwarted when Max broke his heart. This is Egbert Zygote who appeared in the nineteenth episode "Zygote's Rhythm" (series 2 episode 6) attempted to turn the entire world back into the prehistoric age in his bid to create a race of super humans. He re-created the dinosaurs as well as some other "accidents" of nature, and even turned Max's pet iguana, Thor, into a dinosaur, and gave Virgil wings. He eventually re-created himself into an advanced being. Cyberskull. Like the Lawnmower Man, he tries to take over the world using computers as his primary weapon, he even pixilated Max and placed him inside one of his favourite computer games. Cyberskull started off as a disgruntled computer nerd (just like Worm Boy!). Arachnoid. A gone-wrong spiderman who is intially trying to make himself human again after a terrible accident that made him half spider, half man. But as time goes on he realises that this new form of his could make him very powerful. He also makes Norman confront his own fears over spiders. Talon. A huge disembodied skull from the Atsral plane that is carried around by a giant eagle. having captured one million souls from people and animals, Talon is desparate to journey to the plane of men so that he may satisfy his lust for human flesh and blood. All he needs now is the cap of the Mighty One. Freako the Clown: Max tells me that this guy scared him more than any of the other enemies he has met, including Skullmaster. There was something creepy about an evil clown. Like that clown out of Stephen King's "IT". This clown ran a funfair in Russia and would kidnap children who visited and turn them all into monsters. The monster wreaked havoc in a small Irish community after it was raised from the bowels of a castle and turned against its followers. Three large winged gargoyles accompany it wherever it goes. The Conquerer! This titan came from eternity to battle against Norman who faced three life threatening challenges, which he must win in order to live another ten thousand years. Doctor Scorpio. The mad scientist leader of the giant scorpions, and who seems to be stuck in the 60's/70's. He also keeps calling Max after characters out of the Australian TV series, "Skippy." Very odd. A snake god. Tries to invoke Shiva, the Indian god of Destruction. Countess Muskha from "Fly By Night", a vampire that terrorised London one foggy night. She tells a very different story about the origin of the vampire, one in which flies are the creatures of the night, not bats.
